Licentiate in Sacred Theology at Sacred Heart Major Seminary, Detroit, Michigan. In his encyclical Mission of the Redeemer, Pope John Paul II has challenged all Catholics and all Catholic apostolates to commit their resources to a "New Evangelization" of the Church and the world. Sacred Heart has embraced the Holy Father's challenge to participate in this critical missionary mandate. In the fall of 2004, we began offering a new post-graduate degree in pastoral theology: a Licentiate in Sacred Theology (STL) with a specialization in the New Evangelization. We also customized our MA Theology and MA Pastoral Studies programs to include coursework leading to concentrations in the New Evangelization.
